A slightly oval shaped, ceramic salad plate by the company, FURIO, featuring a scene by Austrian artist, Gustav Klimt (1862-1918). Salad plate interprets a scene from a circa 1914 Klimt painting, titled, "KIRCHE IN CASSONE (LANDSCHAFT MIT ZYPRESSEN) (CHURCH IN CASSONE - LANDSCAPE WITH CYPRESSES)". The original painting is an oil on canvas, 43 1/4 by 43 1/4 in. square in size, and sold in 2010 at Sotheby's for over 26,900,000 British Pounds. Wow!
Plate features a whimsically styled cottage and garden in bright, bold colors. Slightly oval shaped plate. Would be excellent to hang on a wall in any room for a pop of color!
Exact date of production unknown. Late 20th/ Early 21st Century Production.
Overall good condition for age with signs of wear.
Markings:
- Marked on back, Made in Indonesia by FURIO // GUSTAV KLIMT
Condition:
- Original condition with light signs of wear present to surface - front and back surface of plate
- Small spots of staining on back of plate - not visible from front
Measurements:
- Diameter – approx. 7 1/2" x approx. right over 8" inches oval
- Height – 3/4” inches tall -
