A vintage set of four Dansk dinner forks in the pattern, Toke. Designed by Jens Quistgaard for Dansk Designs in 1958 and made of bamboo and steel. (Known as Dansk International Designs beginning in 1974).
Toke was introduced in the late 1950s and production seems to have been limited to a short time frame – likely because bamboo easily splits. Clean, minimalist, mid-century lines and not often seen in the marketplace.
Measurements:
- Each fork measures approx. 8” long
Markings:
- Three forks are stamped on the back with “Dansk Designs Denmark” but are difficult to read and nearly invisible
- One fork is unmarked/ marking no longer visible to the eye
Condition:
- Definite signs of use – NOT in perfect in condition
- Bamboo handles show multiple splits all over on each of the forks
- One split in the bamboo handle is more severe than the others and may have been repaired at some point
- Staining and scratches present on stainless steel portion
- Solid join
- These forks have been used and do show wear -
