An antique coin silver serving spoon by Boston, Massachusetts, silversmith, Newell Harding (1799-1862), in a classic, traditional design featuring a double "MM" monogram. Circa 1830.
NOTE ON COIN SILVER: Please note that coin silver is lighter in weight and more flexible/ bendable than sterling silver. Typical Coin Silver content is 89-90% silver vs. Sterling Silver content is 92.5 % silver.
Spoon is in overall good, antique condition with definite signs of wear/ age present. Tip of spoon is slightly irregular in shape and one small spot of roughness on rim of spoon on the right hand side of spoon. Please see Condition Report below for specifics.

Newell Harding (1799-1862) was an American silversmith who worked his professional career in Boston, Massachusetts, beginning in 1821. Newell apprenticed and worked with several other silversmiths and business partners over his lifetime.

- Marked on back of spoon in all caps, “N. Harding"
- Monogram on front of handle, "MM"
Condition Report:
- Original antique condition with wear appropriate for age; including general signs of use
- Cleaned but not polished
- Scratches present throughout bowl area of spoon and handle
- Dings to interior and exterior of bowl area of spoon
- Tip of spoon slightly irregular in shape
- One small spot of roughness on rim of spoon on the right hand side of spoon
