This dish is a beautiful example of hand painted china from the Art Deco period. Signed and dated, 1926, on the back of the dish. The piece features a captivating pattern of grapevines and birds painted in cool toned blues, greens, and purples accentuated by gold detailing and sparing pops of red.
Markings:
- Signed "H Thompson", "June 1926"
- Maker's mark/symbol and text are present but illegible
Measurements:
- Length: approx. 10.5"
- Height: approx. 2"
- Base Foot Diameter: approx. 6.75"
Condition:
- Vintage condition/wear that is consistent with the age of the piece
- There is a glaze skip/some roughness on the inside of the base underneath
- Some marking visible (only at certain angles) towards the top right side of the green of the dish (please see photo # 4) -
